Pneumatic actuator / rotary - UP Series

The Type UP Pneumatic Universal Rotary Actuators move final control elements: air dampers, vanes at fan inlets, valves moved by levers, turbine speed regulators and fluid drives. They respond to modulated or discontinuous signals, moving them mechanically or by direct coupling. Of the 6 variants, from UP1 to UP6, the first two are powered by a rotary vane with double action. The others use a double-acting piston, with conversion of linear to rotary motion.

Manufactured under string quality control norms, GP (pneumatic) and GH (hydraulic) range scotch yoke actuators are precisely engineered to meet the standard requirements, and provide rotary, quarter-turn movement. Because of their superior construction, the actuators come in two varieties of compact, rugged designs. Also their well-balanced design provides peak torque on both sides. Both the actuators come in two configurations:double-acting and spring-return Cante torque arms can be fitted on any side to heighten the level of torque. The actuators are certified to work in SIL2 and SIL3 rated safety systems, conform to the standards mandated in IP 66M/67M, PED 93/27/EC and also ATEX 94/9/EC.

Rotork offers a large range of quarter-turn, scotch-yoke rotor actuators in single-acting or double-acting configurations designed especially for harsh environmental conditions. Their high-torque design is compact, rugged and efficient and offers the benefits of a smaller size, lower cost, lightweight design and a mounting interface that is simple and can integrate easily with ball, butterfly or plug valve applications.

The actuators are also ideal for quarter-turn movements including lowering, lifting, indexing, opening, closing and transferring.

The control packages are designed to specifically meet application requirements and a thorough environmental qualification program was performed on these scotch-yoke actuators by Hiller. This included even the most stringent new plant design requirements, such as the Westinghouse AP1000.
