Automatic polarimeter - Saccharomat TOUCH

Sugar polarimeter Saccharomat TOUCH is a fully automatic sugar polarimeter. It uses the principle of quartz wedge compensation as quartz has optical rotatory dispersion or ORD which almost is a clone of that of a sucrose solution. SCHMIDT + HAENSCH’s Saccharomat uses a quartz wedge to make use of this unique feature. Quartz and the sample react in a way that is identical to small wavelength shifts. These shifts will be automatically compensated and the effect then becomes irrelevant. This offers long time stable high precision measuring results without the need for frequent recalibration.

Sugar polarimeter Saccharomat TOUCH is easy to use. It can also measure dark samples with a high absorption rate using NIR wavelength of 882nm after filteration. It does not require additional clarification. It can also measure Pol and Brix values.

Automatic polarimeter - Polartronic N TOUCH

The digital polarimeters of the Polatronic N and M touch series are fully automatic devices that can be used for various applications at really high resolutions. The 7" TFT touchscreen provided and the extended software are just some of the important features, while the polarimeters are compatible with the requirements of the most demanding customers, convincing with their high accuracy and reproducibility, measuring results over the whole measuring range in a very short time.

Continuous measurement for the control of changes in concentration is also possible, while the user-friendly operation is possible because of the touchscreen display. The robust metal housing makes the item resistant and usable even in rough environmental conditions, while the internal measuring data storage and the extremely low noise complete the list of features. Finally, the operation system is menu guided and minimal maintenance effort is required from the operator.

Polarization measuring system - CMD

Dielectric polarization is an innovative measuring criterion that helps in better understanding the electrochemical reactions taking place during formation of foam. Dielectric polarization occurs owing to generous dipole moments displayed by certain chain-structured molecules at their polar ends, such as OH and NCO.

The molecules first bond together in chain-like formations. This is followed by cross-linking chemical reactions which serve to decimate the dipole movements of the molecules. This stage occurs during the curing process. The Curing Monitor Device- CMD- is designed to measure dielectric polarization values. It is integrated in pressure measuring units i.e. FPM devices at their lower ends.

The CMD indicates the creation of chemical products such as polyurea which signals the halfway mark in the chemical reaction. Once the chemical reaction is complete and the foam is finally cured, the CMD gives a continuous signal to indicate the same. The entire chemical reaction can be simulated in a mould by heating the CMD sensor via a closed circuit.
