The digital tachograph was introduced to enhance safety, legal certainty, uniformity and simplicity into the transport market. In reality, however, the opposite is often true. Old and new tachos have different functions, such as the Remote Data Download (RDD) and the One Minute Rule. Drivers can identify themselves easily by inserting their DigiTach driver card into the digital tacho, which is linked to the TX-MAX GO on-board computer. The DigiTach card reader automatically reads out the data from any driver card, in accordance with all legislation.
