The Nexens RB Series of linear profile guide rail brakes is utilized in holding applications by using spring force to secure the load. It provides a high stopping force, an exceptional response time and holding in e-stop and power-off situations.
With no effect on bearing surfaces, positive braking and holding in all axes is provided by each RB brake which clamps directly onto the center of the guide rail. By reducing the drive train backlash and elasticity, these profile brakes accurately hold position.

These are spring-engaged, air-released units that comply with industry standards. The rod locks are manufactured with a sealed design and finished with natural brushed aluminum or an anodized finish that is corrosion-resistant. High clamping/holding force is delivered due to the large clamping surface. Models are available to be employed for the pneumatic cylinder or as a standalone unit on a guide rod.

PRL Rod Lock Device has extruded anodized aluminum body. Variable bore sizes from 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 63mm, 80mm, 100mm and 125mm. Piston rod diameters range from 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm and 32mm. This pneumatic operating system has a variable pressure range of 4 to 10 bar and + 10% to unlock. Filtered air is the standard fluid. The minimum holding force corresponds to 6.8 bar when applied to bore diameter. The standard operating temperature range from -23C to + 74C. As an additional option, it is possible to have the exhaust air piped away. There are two standard mounting styles; it is possible to mount them on Series MP cylinders. With their design, it is easy to lock them in both directions. It is rated for non-lube service.
