The AX mixing head from Canon is capable of handling up to five streams simultaneously in different combinations. It is a multi-component head designed for flexible seating. This type of technology is essential when it comes to components in a vehicle that require a combination of styling and performance. The primary targets include the reduction of manufacturing costs and improving overall quality as well as the properties of the product when it is foamed and positioned under a range of climatic conditions.

The high-pressure mixing head model was particularly developed for producing flexible foam components with hot and cold cure molding. This molding requires multi-component formulations for automotive seating as well as furniture foam applications. In the mixing head of the AX, four components can be injected into the mixing chamber, where they are then re-circulated at high-pressure along four grooves.
