The SIPROTEC 7SC80 feeder automation controller has flexible protection that the user can create 20 additional protection functions with. The relay provides circuit-breaker control and it can also control the additional primary switching devices such as grounding, transfer and isolating switches. It can also implement automation or PLC logic functionality. The user is allowed by the integrated programmable logic(CFC) to add down the functions for the automation of switchgear including interlocking, transfer and load shedding schemes. User-defined messages can be generated by the user. The communication module is separated from the protection. It can easily be exchanged to future communication protocols.
