PerkinElmer's family consists of XRD 16-inch (41 cm) amorphous silicon (a-Si) X-ray Flat Panel Detectors (FPDs). They give an excellent throughput and structure rates, thus maintaining an exceptional 16 bit contrast resolution and real-time digital x-ray imaging. These tools are available in two different versions, XRD 1622 and XRD 1621. They generate a 20KV to 15MV power and deliver choices of charge amplification, frame rate, speed, filter, and scintillator. With their radiation-hardened technology, operation in severe environments is possible.

These detectors are best suited for veterinary medical and 24/7 NDT productions. They can produce a 200 or 400 μm pixel size, a 30 fps with a 2 x 2 binning frame level, and a 2048 x 2048 pixels picture size.

The XRD 0822 Flat Panel X-ray Detectors (FPDs) are PerkinElmer’s 8-inch (20 cm) field of view amorphous silicon FPDs. The two models of the XRD 0822 X-ray FPDs are available.

The XRD 0822 AO is a 14-bit indicator which gives an excess of 78 db of dynamic range and frame rates up to 30 frames for every second (fps). The upgraded performance XRD 0822 AP gives an industry leading 16-bit contrast resolution and offers in excess of 88 db of dynamic range and frame rates up to 100 fps by means of a few read-out modes.

Both indicators help an expansive range of energy levels from 60 kv to15 MV and are accessible with a few protecting and scintillator alternatives.

The PerkinElmer XRpad™ 4336 is a compact, wireless, cassette-sized flat panel detector, designed for digital photography. It can be easily attached into a wall stand or a traditional table, like a film screen cassette. It also boasts a pixel image matrix of 15 million, a class leading 100 μm pixel pitch and a direct deposited CsI scintillator, which allows delivery of outstanding imaging quality.

In addition, the device offers authentic 35 cm x 43 cm imaging area and gains its power from a removable rechargeable battery. The product is made in accordance with the ISO 4090 cassette specifications. Furthermore, it is crafted with a single piece carbon fiber construction at the front and rear housing, which also allows ease of cleaning.

Dexela is noted for their MOS technology portfolio comprising of hardware and software offerings for fast and low-dose X-ray imaging which they develop and commercialize. With the acquisition, PerkinElmer has been to expand their amorphous silicon (a-Si) based Flat Panel X-ray Detectors (FPD) technology. This is widely used in surgery, dental, cardiology and mammography and even non-destructive testing (NDT). With CMOS technology, PerkinElmer customers now have the advantage of choosing seamlessly between two complementary Flat Panel X-ray Detector technologies enabling them to meet specific application demands and enhance system performance. Apart from CMOS, the company includes other services as well. They are Dexela Mammography Workstation, the DexView Image Processing Software, its 3D Reconstruction Engine Software, and Consulting and Implementation Services.
